The Certificate in Real Estate and MBA Real Estate Stream provides Bachelor of Commerce and Masters students the opportunity for a broad based education in real estate economics, finance, law and development preparing them for a range of careers in the real estate industry. Real Estate Development

This course immerses students in the real estate development process, combining theoretical learning and practical experience. Students explore topics like market analysis, cost estimation, deal structuring, and financial analysis, and apply their knowledge by working in teams to conduct feasibility studies and present competitive development proposals.

Real Estate Asset Strategies
(BUEC 455/611)

This course focuses on the theory, fundamentals, and methods of real estate finance and investment, with an emphasis on analyzing income-producing property types and using tools like Argus Software. Topics include investment analysis, valuation, taxation, finance, corporate real estate, development, capital markets, and the single-family housing market, equipping students with critical skills for careers in real estate or finance-related roles involving real estate.

Legal Issues in Real Estate
(BLAW 456/612)

This course examines real estate law as it pertains to business decisions, covering property rights, land title, transactions, finance, entitlement, and environmental issues. Topics include lease agreements, mortgages, zoning, development permits, construction contracts, condominium law, and relevant environmental and aboriginal laws, with a focus on the legal aspects of real estate development and transactions.
